Hello, Anna Richardson here. I just thought I'd leave you a quick voice note to tell you

about my new advice podcast. It can't just be me.

I'll be getting super honest about my own topsy-turvy life, as well as helping you solve your

life dilemmas with the support of some very special guests and experts. From Podimo

and Max created, it can't just be me, wherever you get your podcasts.

There was a bunch of rules. You know, there were ten rules that were punishable by death

if you violate any of them, like politicking against a fellow brother, showing weakness.

There were a lot of formal rules, and then the name. They kind of amended the name.

It was still Mexican Mafia, which the term Mexican Mafia, of course, Mafia is kind of like

a respect to a well-known organization, the Italian mob.

Of course, an Austro thing of ours.

Yeah, so we, you know, I say we whettled buff, decided Mafia, but Mexican Mafia. So now,

when they did the formal rules, they said, okay, there were guys that wanted to change the name.

They wanted to drop Mafia, so people wouldn't confuse the fellows with the Italians.

And everybody else said, no, no, no, we're good with that. They said, well, what are they compromised?

How about M.E.? The E.M.E.? M.E. is the Spanish phonetic pronunciation of the letter M.

So the guy started, I tattooed M.E. on my arm later. So M.E. was another name in reference to the Mexican.

Anybody that said, hey, is he from the M.E.? They know, is he from the Mexican Mafia.

So they started terrorizing through the sixties. You had other prison gangs that formed the M.E.F.,

must of Amelia. They formed as a resistance group against the M.As.

So it became rivals than the area in brotherhood.

And most of the area in Brotherhood, guys, we knew them from the lockup units from fighting.
