How are you? How is golf? Me, I'm all right. I had a terrible game of golf this morning, which I'm not a sulky golfer. I mean, if I have a bad game, I have a bad game. But it really was a bad game. And there was no joy in it at all. It was just like a slog around the course. I'm not a kind of golf club thrower. I mean, I've played golf with people who really... Oh my, people throw their golf clubs.

1:00.9

Oh my God. Some people get so hot up about it. Yeah, I mean, I have to say few and far between,

1:07.5

but my God, there are some people who really get worked up about it. And there are other people who have a very kind of average gamer golf, but they have all the

1:15.9

kind of measurement tools and techniques. And it's like, how far is it? 143 yards, 145 yards?

1:22.9

Oh, shut up. Just hit the bloody ball and try and get it straight. You know, it's like they spend so much I'm fuffing about trying to get the exact yardage and they haven't even got the skill. Only top pros have got the skill to get it within an exact yardage. So it's like, I just shut up and hit the ball. Which is the point of golf, right? Bit of walking, shut up, hit the ball. Bit of walking, shut up, hit the ball. Kind of, yeah. I mean, there were nice people I played with today, but one of them in particular, I played with before. But anyway, it was good. It was just nice to get out there. I've got exercise. It got fresh air. I walked six miles. Couldn't have done me any harm. Yeah, no, that's always good. good yeah mentally it's scarred me for life but but uh physically it's done me no harm at all yeah it's funny because today we're going to talk about resistance and self-sabotage these are two psychological patterns well there you get do it the golf course. You have a bad shot. Mind goes and it's such a mental game golfer, you can just go, right? That's it. I'm rubbish at the game. What's the point? No, no. Absolute rubbish. There you go. I told you I was rubbish. There you go. Right, that's any more proof. Okay, try and concentrate. Oh bugger, another bad shot. Right, that's any more proof okay try and concentrate oh bugger another bad shot right

2:37.2

that's it okay i'm up and you know before you know it i mean i'd completely convince myself

2:42.6

even though i know that i can play a decent game of golf convinced myself i was a really

2:48.3

rarely what was the point of even having golf clubs, you know?

2:52.8

It's so interesting. We do that. So we went for a family bike ride this morning, which was a bit

2:57.9

frustrating because my youngest moaned the whole way. But generally, we love doing that.

3:03.1

One thing I always do with my, well, I've done with my oldest son and I've just started doing my youngest,

3:11.1

is in the summer, because the summer holidays in America really long, and obviously we've had three months pretty much no score. So it's like the longest holiday in the history

3:15.0

of school. I always get them workbooks to do over the summer. So it's like preparing them for

3:20.6

the next grade they're going into. And I have to say my eldest son is fantastic.
