A couple of Phillies free agents were given qualifying offers by the team. I'll let you know who they are and who did not receive a qualifying offer.

And I'm going to be joined by Tyler Kepner, the outstanding national baseball writer from the athletic. He's born and raised in Philadelphia back in the day, so he's got his hands on everything going on with the Phillies as well, even though he's a national guy. But we're going to talk about the health of the game. We're going to talk about the World Series. And yes, I am going to pick his brain about what he thinks the Phillies should do this off season. So we'll do a quick podcast here to finish up the week. Give you some Phillies nuggets, Phillies News to finish things off. All that coming up here on this edition of Hitting Season. And let's, we'll just jump right in quickly and talk about the qualifying offers the team made to Kyle Schwerber and Ranger Suarez.

It is expected that both players will, of course, decline those qualifying offers, as both will certainly get lucrative multi-year deals.

J.T. Real Muto and Harrison Bader did not receive qualifying offers. Real

Muto was ineligible to receive one. He already received a qualifying offer after the 2020

season. The Phillies let him at free agency, and the Phillies offered him a QO that offseason.

He, of course, declined it, and then the Phillies signed him to a multi-year

contract in free agency. And the Phillies decided that the one-year salary of $22, just over $22 million

for the qualifying offer was just a little too expensive to bring back Harrison Bader on a one-year

deal.

So it is believed the Phillies will engage in negotiations with Schwaber, J.T.

Rale Muto, and Harrison Bader.
