0:31.7	It is something, something, gave up the ghost.
0:35.5	To give up the ghost.
0:44.5	So we got a phrasal verb there to give up or gave up, past tense, G-I-V-E-U-P, the, T-H-E,
0:47.6	ghost, G-H-O-S-T.
0:50.9	You know what a ghost is, right?
0:52.4	Do you like ghosts?
0:58.3	Do you believe in ghosts? Me? Do I believe in ghosts? Yes, I do.
1:08.9	I do. Yeah, I think ghosts, something's out there. Something's out there, you know? But anyway, to give up the ghost means to give up the spirit.
1:12.7	And that spirit means the power, the ability, the ability to function, the ability to operate.
1:22.1	So you could say, you know, John gave up the ghost.
1:27.4	And that could have two meanings. One meaning would be
1:30.7	he died, you know, rest his soul. And the other meaning would be he simply gave up. He was doing
1:38.6	something and he quit. So that's possible. Okay. So John gave up the ghost. Either he died or he stopped doing something.
1:48.6	But more typically, we use this expression with a machine.
1:52.9	So, for example, my computer gave up the ghost.
1:58.8	And that simply means my computer died. It no longer works. Now, maybe I can fix it,
