And we exist on this enduring continuum that's made up of how are you behaving today?

We worked with a Swiss employment agency, and we did a little experiment.

15-minute intervention for half of these people. Reflect on your values, why they matter,

how you demonstrate them. Two months later, they were twice as likely to have found a job.

In fact, the effect was so strong, we stopped the experiment and gave everybody the values intervention. And so when we reflect on

our values, it has two things that I think are incredibly important. One is, it helps us see the

big picture what really matters. But two is, I think it has this element of optimism. It gives us

that energy to go forward.

That's Adam Galinsky. He's a celebrated social psychologist at Columbia Business School who's published over a thousand studies on leadership, decision-making, teams, and ethics.
