Broadcasting from the Cruise Radio Studios in Jacksonville, Florida. This is Cruise Radio. Hey, I'm Matt Baskford. And I'm Doug Parker. Check out our new website, cruiseradio.net. On this show, we'll talk to a listener who's staying at the Atlantis in Nassau, Bahamas, who made the choice to Brave Hurricane Irene. We'll also check in with Jennifer Dutosa from the Weather Channel. But first, Stewart's year on the cruise guys here.

Hello, Stuart.

0:02.4

Hey, man. Let's get right to it. Over a dozen ships had itinerary changes. Thank you, Hurricane Irene. Any major changes, Stuart? Well, it's been a rough week. A lot of the ships in the Caribbean as well as in the Bahamas have had to shift.

Bermuda actually was affected in the sense that they had to cut the sailings there,

0:45.0

the time in Bermuda short by a day in order to get the ships back into the Baltimore,

0:50.5

New York Harbors so they can beat Irene and get out of there ahead of the storm,

which is on her way up.

Will that ship just sit and port the whole time during the hurricane the ships will be gone okay and it's just

1:28.7

like when like last week when on sunday when royal caribbean and carnival were ordered by the port of

1:34.8

san juan to leave early um you know bermuda you know same thing they had to leave early in order to

1:40.7

get out of there on time but sometimes the ports uh supersede you know the cruise line schedules and the cruise lines have to acquiesce in order to get out of there on time. But sometimes the ports supersede, you know, the cruise lines schedules and the cruise lines

1:46.7

have to acquiesce in order to protect the ship and the passengers.

1:49.6

I'm going to guess the answer to my next question is no, but when acts of God like this

1:54.5

happen, do the cruise lines compensate?

1:56.4

No, there's nothing to compensate.

1:58.5

Right.

1:58.8

They're having to make these changes in order to protect the ship and the passengers.

2:04.3

So nothing to compensate.
