Summary

When I began exploring medicinal herb gardening, I felt like I had walked into a foreign country. I didn't know where to start or how to navigate this new territory.

But like everything in my garden journey, I took small steps. And while I still consider myself a beginning medicinal herb gardener, I do feel like I've found my footing a bit.

Because growing a medicinal herb garden -- or simply introducing medicinal herbs into our lives -- is something many beginning gardeners explore, I wanted to give you a guide to get started in medicinal herb gardening.

0:37.2	Appropriate, right? This is a topic that so many of you guys have
0:40.6	been asking me about over the past several months. I've shared a little bit of my foray
0:46.2	into this world of medicinal herb gardening, and a lot of you've asked a lot of questions,
0:52.2	but I just wasn't ready to do anything until now
0:55.9	because I was still neck deep in learning myself. And to be honest, I am still neck deep in
1:03.7	learning. It seems like the further I go, the further I realize that there is to go. But what I
1:08.9	wanted to do in this episode is just take you to the very
1:12.0	beginning. If you have any interest in growing any kind of herbs for medicinal purposes,
1:19.3	I want to try to help you know where to get started. Because that is one thing that when I first
1:25.7	started doing this last year, I was clueless.
1:28.9	There were so many resources out there. It was so hard to wade through it all and to know how to
1:34.3	get started and what to do. So that's what this episode is going to be about.
1:37.9	Primarily me talking to you about what I did when I first started and some of those
1:42.6	steps that you can take also to get started in
1:46.1	medicinal herb gardening. First, I want to tell you a story. And this is going to kind of set the
1:52.4	stage for where I'm coming from, because I'm definitely not coming to you as an expert.
1:58.8	When I was in college, I'll never forget, my very favorite year in college
2:02.3	was freshman year. And then in my sophomore year, I was a leader of a freshman family group
2:09.4	in our local faith-based student organization, the BSU. It's not called the BSU anymore.
