We are back in the city of brotherly love and oh brother have we got some lovely games for you

First up today we're going to talk about a little old game that came out just 20 years ago

This is a photograph on the screen you can see now for those who are listening at home

It's me wearing a delightful turtle next sweater losing my mind in the corner of a hotel on the edge of Philadelphia

People often think that we don't like really complicated Euro games like oh shut up and sit down like simple games

Every time we fly a halfway around the world we always crack out some of the most complicated things we can play to play

Lost yet lagged so why I don't know why what it's just the only time we have like eight hours what should we do let's play a

Helstcape so what we've got here this is Rhodes and boats from fantastic Netherlands publisher splotter

You may want over food chain magnet one Mr. Splotters in the audience

No so Rhodes and boats was one of the first splotter games we were lucky enough to play bus as well this trip which we'll be talking about later

I'm stalling because how on earth do you describe Rosenberg I mean I think the key thing to look at here is that it's minor detail on the image

But I'm basically staring as if I'm losing my mind and really all I'm looking at is a board of hexagon pieces with maybe two or three donkeys on it

And really that kind of sums up Rhodes and boats it's a game of building infrastructure so we kept having very nice elderly people staying at the hotels coming up and saying

Oh you guys playing something is this like settlers of Katana and we're like yeah yeah put in hell

Because it's it's not enough that you're like yeah I've made some wood fantastic but unfortunately the wood isn't very well connected to the hub of my road system which means I'm dying

It's not enough to just build resources in this game or have resources come to you you also have to build the infrastructure that's going to allow you to move them around with limited transportation

limited resources and limited brain cells yeah that's a very elegant way of describing what is in some ways an elegant game

In Rosenberg you start imagine you are parachuted into a sort of an empty landscape and you have got we know this because we've played it twice in two days unbelievably
