I can't believe that I've done a thousand of these, and I could not be happier to welcome

Susan Orlean back onto the program to be my 1,000th author interview. She is celebrating the publication of a new

memoir called Joyride. It is available from Avid Reader Press, an imprint of Simon & Schuster,

and you will hear my conversation with Susan in just a bit. I do want to say a few quick words at the outset to mark the occasion.
