Hello, it's 1,000 days,

1,000 days since the full-scale invasion began.

The 24th of February, 2022.

Good morning from Kiev, the capital of Ukraine, a city, a country under fire.

We've just heard a siren go off for the first time, we haven't heard that before.

Ukrainians have often shared the grab bags that they use, the air-aid shelters that they would go to,

they include underground bars and restaurants.

But this is a very worrying morning for people in the capital city and beyond.

I were waking up at 5 o'clock in the morning because I heard huge crashes of Russians missiles.

We've organized ourselves to patrol our communities to protect our homes and our families from marauders.

I've never shot anyone, but I do know how to shoot a gun.

We now have war in Europe on a scale and of a type

with thought belonged to history.

The air raid sirens became the constant backdrop to the lives of Ukrainians.

And in the days that followed, it quickly became clear that nobody,

nobody would be spared from Russia's aggression.

A soldier entered our house. My husband and I were there. At gunpoint, he took me to a neighboring

house. He was ordering me, take your clothes off, or I'll shoot you. Russia has bombed a hospital in the southern city of Mariupol.

TV footage showed a heavily pregnant woman being carried out of the building on a stretcher,

a mom clutching her toddler, both crying, and another woman having her head bandaged.
