Three Ukrainians on how their lives have changed and their hopes for peace.

Victoria, James and Vitaly are in the studio to reflect on 1000 days of the conflict. They’re joined by student Vitalii, teacher Olga and young mum Iryna - three friends of the podcast whose stories we’ve followed over the last few years. They also answer listener questions. Ukrainians have often shared the grab bags that they use, the air-aid shelters that they would go to,

I were waking up at 5 o'clock in the morning because I heard huge crashes of Russians missiles.

We've organized ourselves to patrol our communities to protect our homes and our families from marauders.

A soldier entered our house. My husband and I were there. At gunpoint, he took me to a neighboring

house. He was ordering me, take your clothes off, or I'll shoot you. Russia has bombed a hospital in the southern city of Mariupol.

TV footage showed a heavily pregnant woman being carried out of the building on a stretcher,
