Many other countries in the world have had female presidents and prime ministers,

but this is the highest a woman in America has climbed.

A pretty little girl watching tonight sees that this is a country of possibilities.

Our country has sent you a clear message. Dream with ambition. Lead with

conviction and see yourselves in a way that others may not simply because they've never

seen it before. But know that we will applaud you every step of the way.

She had to overcome a mountain of prejudice to get there.

A lot of people, women as well as men, still feel uncomfortable

with the whole notion of a powerful woman.
