There's some really fascinating ideas about how dead bodies are actually quite a safe people to interact with because they there's no danger of rejection, there's no danger of pain, there's no danger of abuse that kind of thing.

Somebody told me a few weeks ago that they missed some of the darker

edgier topics on On the Edge with Andrew Gold podcast so I'm pleased and a little

apprehensive to bring you today's episode on some of the darkest and most

taboo topics on earth namely beastiality or bestiality, cannibalism, necrophilia and incest.

James Williams is an anthropologist and speaker who I found out about from Matt at Bristol Humanists where I did a talk about

journalism and objectivity as it happens. Anyway I'm so happy that Matt put me in touch with James because this episode blew my mind.

I do think it might be too much for some people and I'd advise you to just skip and go to the next one if that's the case.

I do understand that and a lot of this stuff is very, for lack of a better word, triggering.

We really delve into some of the murkiest subjects imaginable, but know that we're not doing it just for shock. James is a skeptic, which I think in this case

means he is interested in looking at the facts and the science and seeing what we can learn away from the emotion and revulsion of any

particular topic.
