I am in the midst of the hardest thing I've ever experienced in my life.

There is man, there is pain in the process of divorce, divorce sucks.

And I have pain, Rachel has pain, we are deep in a season of grief.

And in part because of that man, I need some grace in recording this episode, but also I just

want to start with some gratitude for the way that so many of you have been so supportive of the

impossibly, impossibly hard decision that we've made to end our marriage.

Rain I have been, we have been best friends, we are best friends, man that friendship, that was a

thing that started what we are, that has been a foundation for who we are and that thing,

that ability to have fun, the jokes, the laughing, that's a through line that will exist in the

midst of this grief that will exist in our relationship becoming what it will become.

Our friends and our family and I'm sure even some of you have just felt so surprised by

the announcement that we made three weeks ago that we are ending our marriage in a lot of ways.

It has been as surprising and as jarring for us because there was an aversion of this as a

thing that could happen until we were able to really confront the things that have been

masked by our ability to have fun, our ability to joke, our ability to get into adventures or

love on these kids well. And now that we've seen the things that have not brought out the best in

each of us exist, underneath the fun, underneath the friendship, we have decided to do something that

will afford each of us on the other side of this impossibly hard time to become free for the
