January 2012. Guests sailing on a Norwegian cruise vacation are no longer permitted to smoke cigarettes in their state rooms.

Now, if you're in a balcony state room, you can't smoke on the outside balcony.

However, cigar and pipe smoking in state rooms and on balconies is prohibited.

Ash trays will be available for use upon request through the housekeeping
