| 0:38.5 | So that's right, my friends. It has somehow been 10 years of ups and downs. And what a great time for me to get to talk to you about this on and the heat wave in the UK where I'm sweating my cahones off. Can I say that? Probably not. Before we do get into it, I'm just going to go through some of my best moments, which is the most arrogant and self-obsessed I've ever done. But people at Watt Culture Wrestling, very nice. He said, no, Simon, you should talk about this. I just want to say thank you so much for anyone that has been on this ridiculous 10-year ride. Shout out to all these people as well that say Simon's only 5'2 and he's 49 years old. None of these are accurate, but hey, isn't it nice that people do give a damn? But when I started doing this back in May, 2016, and we are going to have a video, it may already be live of me reacting to the first ever episode I did, which is an abomination. |
| 0:54.3 | I've just done it. I don't know why you did stick with me so long. It's this week's ups and downs from last night's roar. Well, we see if the show had more good points than bad points, because nothing in wrestling is just okay. It's either really, really great or painfully awful. like losing your hair But yeah |
| 0:55.1 | Even if you had told me then |
| 0:56.1 | When I was a 10 year old kid watching wrestling It's either really, really great or painfully awful. Like losing your hair. |
| 0:54.8 | But yeah, even if you had told me then when I was a 10-year-old kid watching wrestling, that this would be a way to make a living and a way to keep a roof over my head, I wouldn't have believed it, but genuinely, without you watching, liking, subscribing, viewing, whatever word you want to throw out there, it doesn't happen. So it's a big massive thank you from me. I always try and tell people this when I do meet them in person as well. So I've never done that to you. Please forgive me now. And please let me make up to it right this second too. It's the coolest thing in the world, especially because now some people do come up to me and they say Simon I started making content because you make content. That sounds like a really bad idea. That sounds like |
| 1:27.6 | you may have been, I've steered you down the wrong path and maybe I should be able to rectify it. But no, it's, it's humbling, it is. And that word is so annoying when people say that. And also, if right now you're saying, it's fine, it's just stupid review show on YouTube, I totally agree with you. I'm a man that lives to be stupid, it lives to be goofy and lives to be an idiot, but I still love the fact, to be honest, that I have been able to do this so long, |
| 1:47.3 | and again, you do not get that without support. Otherwise, I'm just screaming into the abyss. It's like I'm a tree falls in a woods and nobody's around to hear it. It does actually make a noise. If I'm telling you what I think is great or terrible from Raw or Smackdown or Dynamite, who gives a flower. And that's the cool thing as well. I remember when we first started doing this, when Smackdown went live again, the Dynamite exists in 2019, and the Sea of a punk coming back star from the Joczina retiring. We have managed to share, let me go, just get really corny and cheesy here, but we have been able to share a bunch of cool wrestling moments together, forever, then now forever, whatever that flipping W-W-E thing is. But I am just waffling on now. There's going to be some stuff I've forgotten. Sometimes people send me videos and I'm honestly like I don't remember saying that, which is very, very scary. But here's 10 things that it just pop into my head straight away. So I thought we can go down memory lane. We'll revisit some things that would make me feel like an absolute idiot, but at least we can have some fun. |
| 2:50.1 | Number 10 is the story I tell all the time. If you ever come to a live show that I've done, I would always tell this story. And that's not going to stop, even though I've told it here. But it's WrestleMania 39 and when we almost got arrested. Now, as you know, live, usually at WrestleMania, we go outside to do ups and downs once a show is done. And very, very nicely, people start to form a crowd. So it becomes a bit like a football stadium, I suppose, or it becomes a bit like a community. We share in the love together. Some people hate this in the comments, and it always makes me laugh. It's one episode a year, maximum of three. It's like, yeah, it's not that important, okay, even though, of course, it is my livelihood. But people were so damn mad that Cody Rhodes did not |
| 3:25.0 | win the championship at WrestleMania 39 and Roman had won. It's brought us on to our main event |
| 3:30.1 | of the evening. They got drunk, right? And they got so drunk, they decided, well, we know, |
| 3:40.0 | Simon will have a camera. |
| 3:41.2 | And Simon allow us to shout stuff into the lens, which is not true, by the way. |
| 3:44.0 | You just do that off your own back. |
| 3:45.6 | And we basically caused a public incident to the point a security man, I guess a police officer or someone that had some sort of jurisdiction, came up to me and said, listen, man, We can see what you're doing here and it's fine. You're in the right place to do it. You're not breaking any laws that way. |
| 3:57.0 | But you are creating such a disturbance that usually in a situation like this, you have to |
| 4:01.2 | blame the perpetrator so whether your fault or not, you are responsible. So either get to the parking |
| 4:06.6 | lot, which is so far away, we can let you get away with it, or we're going to take you to jail. |
| 4:10.3 | Phil will tell you this, of course, shout to Phil, who does the recording when we do these and does most of the editing as well. He desperately wanted me to get arrested because it would have been the greatest footage ever, which I totally agree with. But we did move to the car park. But of course, we had a couple of hundred people for that one, because people were just so damn irate. But all people saw was someone that looked like a law enforcement individual walking me away and they were like, no, justice for Simon, this is unfair. And then I had to try and calm them down. There was one guy who I genuinely like their dad had to grab and be like, you need to calm down. He was so aggressive and he was so over the top, he would have got in trouble. And I was like, there was no point getting trouble because Cody Rose didn't win a world championship. I love wrestling, but it's the most important of the least important things. But it just makes me happy in one way that we were able to cause such a ruckus with ups and downs that somebody, whatever guys it was of a level of importance had to say, listen, this is not cool. And we can tell that something's going to kick off. And yeah, I felt it too. Like there was one point when everybody was encroaching on me. Thankfully, that stuff doesn't |
| 5:07.3 | freak me out, but I would totally understand if it would do to somebody else. And I had to turn |
| 5:11.2 | around and go, guys, you all need to calm down. And you all need to back off. But let's not |
| 5:16.1 | pretend that wasn't. Just use the same. This word is going to be used a lot, the catchphrase of the day. It's very, very humbling. Even if you were just there to shout into a microphone, it's very humbling to have that many people around you and to know your catchphrases and just want to be involved in the environment. So you get a massive thumbs up for me. But yes, you almost did get me arrested, which is fantastic. That probably would have gone on some kind of record as well, |
| 5:38.0 | which means maybe I wouldn't have been able to get back into the United States. |
