I suppose the preface to this episode is the power of saying yes and how that can change your life.

I like it.

How a whole family can be born because of a yes.

Prayers can be answered because of saying yes.

Saying yes to something very uncomfortable,

risky, potentially embarrassing. I couldn't help but notice that this podcast episode being

released on January 17th, 2022, marks exactly 10 years to the day that I first met Jessica.

And we've shared this story in some way, shape, or form, we've glossed over it from time to time,

we've told parts of it over the years, depending on where you've listened to what we do.

But I thought this is such a perfect opportunity to share the full story from start to finish and how it ties into the fact that saying yes can change a life or multiple lives or create lives.

Right.

Jess, why don't we start with you sharing why you were even in New York City?

Because you didn't grow up in New York City.

I sure didn't.

You grew up in the middle of the country, running around with your shoes off.

So I had been touring with the Broadway company of a chorus line all through North America and Japan.

And I was married at the time, not to you.

And we were planning on moving to New York City when my tour ended, and that was always

sort of in the cards.

And then things took a real turn in my marriage, and he made some choices that involved

sleeping with someone who wasn't me and broke my heart and broke our vows and ended up leaving.
