| 0:00.0 | So I do not like the word buried. Do not get me wrong, it does happen. For some reason, |
| 0:04.0 | I always think of that Bailey Extreme Rules match with Alexa Bliss. W.W.E did not do right by her at all. It is different when we are talking about stars of the present versus stars of the past, though, because most fans expect the current heroes to win. That makes sense. The veteran takes all their power and bestows it on somebody new, so when it doesn't happen, |
| 0:22.2 | well, if you go really quiet, |
| 0:23.3 | you can hear an explosion. |
| 0:24.5 | What are some... sense. The veteran takes all their power and bestows it on somebody new, so when it doesn't happen, |
| 0:22.2 | well, if you go really quiet, you can hear an explosion. What are some of the most crazy examples of this, however? Well, you have spoken, maybe, maybe you don't care, I don't know, but I am Simon Miller. Let's talk about it. Number 10, the Rock versus CM Punk at the 2013 Royal Rumble. You can't ever be surprised the Rock wins a WW match. |
| 0:39.2 | I mean, it's the flipping rock. |
| 0:40.7 | He could be one of the most versus CM Punk at the 2013 Royal Rumble. You can't ever be surprised the Rock wins a W-W |
| 0:38.5 | match. I mean, it's the flipping rock. He could be one of the most popular superstars ever, given his fame transcends wrestling to say the least. The man is next level. And I still remember the time. My mum said, have you seen that brand new actor that kind of looks like that wrestler used to watch. |
| 0:53.2 | I just went, yes, mum, yes, I have. |
| 0:55.3 | The issue with the 2013 Rumble is that not only was the great one facing C.M. Punk, but it was a C.M. Punk who was in the midst of a 434-day W.W.E. Title run. Those who had cried through the summer of Punk in 2011 finally had something to celebrate about. So when it came to WrestleMania 29, yeah, here we go. C.M. Punk is going to get his main event. He did not. This is because the Great One did beat him for the championship slap bang in the middle of the ring at this pay-per-view and set up that rematch with John Sina. That also became a talking point because WWE had promoted the WrestleMania 28 fight as Once in a Lifetime. So now we're doing it again, |
| 1:29.8 | which means it was once in a lifetime part two. So you can see why the audience threw their toys out of the pram, |
| 1:34.6 | but the business scene around the Rock did together was ridiculous. Do not forget WW is in the industry |
| 1:39.8 | of making money, so yeah, those two were the easiest way to do it. I've always thought CN Punk's idea of an elimination three way where he gets taken out first was a good shout. If WW was dead set on this, because yes, he did deserve the spot that year. Man was on fire. Sadly, that is not how sports entertainment works, and I can't pretend I didn't enjoy most things the Rock and John Cena did, because I did, which is a stupid sentence. It just felt so surreal, but that didn't take away from the fact that there was many a title and many a forum that read, oh my gosh, she and punk should have beaten the rock. It didn't happen. Number nine, JBL buries the Ascension. Let us give JBL his due first. He has spoken on this during podcast and stated there was more to this story. He was doing commentary at the time and had been told to go after the Ascension for their old school ways, so when Victor and Connor went on a tear, boom, he would have egg on his face. They could go and laugh at him and say Bradshaw doesn't know what he's talking about, but do not forget he was essentially being the mouthpiece for Vince McMahon, who had this grand plan. And guess what happened to that grand plan? Well, it did not play out this way on TV. In case you don't know, too, the Essential NXT were awesome. They were a proper throwback, and their look especially felt unique. Most assumed the main roster would be an even better environment for them, given some of the teams who had come and gone through the WWEe doors as soon as they were on war though we started getting told they just couldn't hang and that teams from yesteryear would be ashamed of what they were seeing that played out in the ring too victor and con are last and last and last and last and last and last so it was just badly thought out all around and it was curious if you were watching this on television j JBL always sided with the heels apart from the Ascension. That's why if you do have a direction, you've at least got to explore it, this one felt like it was never given a chance. I can't understand why people did land where they did fall down, however. If you do hear JBL saying all these things, and you also see the Ascension never getting a win, Well, you're just going to put two and two together. Number eight, Goldberg defeats Kevin Owens for the Universal Tale. This really was very silly. I totally get WWE wanting Brock Lesnar versus Goldberg at Messermania 33 and do it for the Universal title. That feud had caught fire and sure they had name value. It looks good above the marquee, but that doesn't mean you hit the self-destruct button on other people. I still find it wild, Kevin Owen has only been the WW champion one time because if anyone deserves it more, it's that guy. He has proven time and time again. He can just adapt to any scenario, and that was true when he did arrive in WWE, the guy is an all-time great. |
| 3:57.6 | It meant when he did win the Big Belt after help from Triple H, it felt pretty good, even if the title run itself wasn't booked properly. Not sure Vince McMahon ever understood Keio, but still, we got here and that was cool. Because we were switching things around you to Bill and Brock, however, when we did get to the Fast Lane pay-per-view, all of a sudden Goldberg was |
| 4:14.2 | put in a position against Kevin Owens, and Billy Boy won in seconds. Now, sure, Chris Jericho cast |
| 4:19.8 | distraction to continue his program with Kevin Owens, but this was so bad. Can't they just |
| 4:24.6 | have a proper match and Goldberg wins? I totally understand that squashes were his thing, but this |
| 4:29.4 | was a Halloween havoc 1998 situation. |
| 4:32.1 | DDP back then knew how to get the most out of Bill, Kevin Owens would have been able to do the same. |
| 4:36.7 | You can still argue the overall decision, but at least then K.O. went toe to toe with a legend |
| 4:40.5 | and came up short, not get run over in 20 seconds. Didn't help anybody, including Goldberg, because |
