biblically about everything. First question for today, is it possible that

something's missing in the sufferings and the pain and the sacrifice of Jesus.

Colaians 124 says that something is, quote,

lacking in the afflictions of Christ.

Some people say this verse teaches

Paul is going to suffer for the salvation of others.

Can we help pay for other people's sins? That's the question. Now this is kind of connected

to the Roman Catholic doctrine of the Treasury of Mer merit. This belief that there are there

actually are people who are out there saint like they're the ones who have

more than enough good works in their life to merit their own salvation.

They take the blood of Jesus plus the things that they've done and this is what gets them

into heaven, right? Initial forgiveness, but final justification that comes with their works,

added to what Jesus did.

And so then you die, you avoid purgatory, or you finish dealing with purgatory you get into heaven you're

officially a saint according to the Catholic Church and then we have these works

that you've done that have helped pay for the temporal punishments of other

people's sins.

And this is one of the verses I've heard used to support that.

Let's look at the verse now together.

Paul says here in Colossians 124,
