Summary

As our kids get into their teens, they tend to isolate and become more independent. Their thoughts and feelings grow more complex. Asking them about their day at school is not enough to get them to open up about what’s going on inside their heads, and they are not going to volunteer information. How can we better connect with our teenagers?

This is a crucial time for our kids, and the quality of our relationships depends on the quality of the questions we ask. If we want our teenagers to feel free to communicate with us, we have to be proactive about getting to know the person they’re becoming.
