President Joe Biden said 11 U.S. citizens have died in the conflict in Israel and an unknown number remain missing.

In the statement he added, it's likely that American citizens may be among those

being held hostage by Hamas and that the Biden administration is working with

Israeli officials on every aspect of the hostage crisis.

An American defense official told CNN the US is offering Israel special operations planning

and intelligence support as part of the effort to rescue

hostages taken by Hamas. The White House said Biden will deliver remarks on Israel

at 1 PM Eastern on Tuesday. Biden also spoke with the leaders of France, Germany,

Italy, and the UK today, where they expressed

their quote, steadfast and united support for Israel in a joint statement.

White House National Security official John Kirby said the U.S. has no intention of putting American boots on the ground.
