Hello from CNN, I'm Anna Sturla with the five things you need to know for Friday, September 15th.

The summer of strikes continues with United Auto Workers walking off the job at three Midwestern plans.

The strikes target one factory from each of the big three automakers, General Motors, Ford, and

Stellantis.

We've been very clear about our demands and if the companies don't come to the

pump and deliver for these members and give them their fair share of economic and social

justice, we'll lamp up the pressure, we'll take more plants out. That's UAW President Sean Vane. It's a historic

moment the first time UAW has struck all three companies at the same time. The union is

trying to recapture the many benefits workers gave up more than a decade ago when the companies

were on the brink of bankruptcy.

As of now, all three automakers are reporting record or near record profits.

Vermont Senator Bernie Sanders spoke at a UAW rally today in downtown Detroit.

When you have order workers who cannot afford to buy the cars they make, that is bad for the economy it is totally reasonable for

auto workers to finally receive a fair share of the record-breaking profits that their labor has produced.

Auto makers have derided the strikes calling the union's demands unreasonable,

with Ford's CEO claiming they would bankrupt the company.

Justice Department prosecutors are asking Judge Tanya Chutkin to reel in Donald

Trump's public statements in his 2020 election subversion case.

That's according to a newly released filing.

The DOJ is asking Chuckkin to place a court order on Trump to limit what he can say,

arguing that it's necessary to protect the integrity of his trial in March.

Trump has already been ordered not to intimidate potential witnesses or talk to them about the facts
