Hello from CNN, I'm Anna Sturla with the five things you need to know for Friday, November 17th.

A judge in Colorado says former President Donald Trump can stay on the state's 2024 primary ballot,

rejecting the claim he's banned from

holding office because of the capital insurrection. It comes after judges in

Minnesota and Michigan also refused to remove Trump from their state's

ballots.

The legal cases in each state against Trump argued that he shouldn't be allowed to hold office

under the 14th Amendment's ban on insurrectionists from public office.

The judge in today's ruling says Trump did engage in an

insurrection but found the ban didn't apply to presidents.

CNN's Evan Perez has more.

It's clear to her that if the framers of the Constitution had intended for that to apply to

a President of the United States, then they would have made that much clearer.

And so in her view, it does not apply and therefore the former president will appear on the Colorado

ballot. Separately today House Speaker Mike Johnson said he'll release all

Capitol Hill security footage from January 6, 2021 to the public, so long as it doesn't contain sensitive

information.
