Today we were breaking down 10 players that you should be trying to add on your waiver wires before week six and before your friends do.

Now this video is going to feature a ton of different type of players, maybe some bi-week fillers as well as players who could help you for the rest of the season and maybe even a league winner or two. Now I want to start off with a player who maybe fits into like all those categories after what we just saw in week five. Michael Carter, the Arizona Cardinals running back, former New York Jet.

He was drafted by there out of UNC.

This is a player who was just on the practice squad like 10 days ago and now he's a starting running back. In week six, there was a big question on who would be the RB1 for this team when Trey Benson was out of nowhere somewhat. It kind of put on IR, going to miss four to six weeks. Amari DiMercato was between or Michael Carter. As you could see from the carries here, 18 for Michael Carter, three for DeMercato. It was pretty clearly Michael Carter's job. He was the clear workhorse running back this entire time. He also added in five receptions, which dating back to his time at UNC. He was a very nice pass catching running back. And there was in this game no receptions for Amari Di Mercado who was looked at as more of

that third down pass catching running back between the two. So if anybody was trying to tell you, I knew it was going to be Michael Carter or I knew I know for sure it's going to be Demercato. They were lying. The coaches didn't give away anything. We weren't going to find out until this game and now we just did. We even got to see Zonovan Knight, another former jet here. Bam Knight, he actually saw a goal-line carry over Di Mercado.

logs here on ESPN, like you see he had 81 rushing yards, led the team. That's great, right? He

had that long 71-yard run, 72 yards, depending on the site you look at that's tracking this.

But he ended up having at this point, you've probably seen it now. It's infamous that he let the ball go before he got into the end zone. It would have iced the game. And then the Cardinals

had the biggest collapse I've seen probably ever in an NFL game dating back to the Falcon Super Bowl against the Patriots. Now to put them up 28 to 6 in the fourth quarter, they would have won the game. They end up losing the game for a bunch of other mistakes. But anyways, is demarcato got chewed out on the sideline by his head coach Jonathan Gannon after that,

and he's probably not going to get a lot of usage moving forward, or at least not next week.

And while all of that was going on, Michael Carter was not only dominating the first three quarters before that happened, but the rest of the game as well. He saw 72% of the backfield carries. He saw an insane 15.6% target share. That's like a wide receiver two type target chair as a running back.

And he got one of the two carries inside the five. The other one went to Bam Zonovan Knight. He had the eighth best weighted opportunities on the week, according to Ryan Heath over on Twitter. And if we pull up where he was getting all of his usage, obviously if you're playing like 70 plus percent of the snaps, according to PFF here, the light green. Now the third downs in the two-minute offense, that still was going to Amari Di Mercado. This blue color here is Amari Demarcato. This dark green is Zonovan Knight. So he didn't get the two minute offense, he didn't get the third down usage. Maybe that changes a little

So by all accounts, Michael Carter looks like the RB1 on this team. And for at least three to maybe even four or five more weeks, Trey Benson is going to be out. we know James Connor is done for the season, so this is somebody who can help you in the short term

and maybe even he carves out a roll once Benson is back. Because we actually have a little bit of a sample size now. If you look at last year, in the final three games of the season, Michael Carter joined this team when James Connor was dealing with injuries as well here. In his three games, he was averaging 12 fantasy points per game, that's RB2 or flex production between his receiving yards of 19 his rushing yards of 44 he had over 60 yards per game

and again 12 fantasy points per game definitely a flex play for you especially with the by weeks
