a race to do this weekend, Monaco, that is, one of the biggest races of all, so I could not let this one go by.

Let's talk Monaco, shall we? Monaco itself is a little city state that borders southern France and the Mediterranean

near France's eastern border with Italy.

And in 1929 it was decided that a race would be

held on the city streets along the waterfront. The race continued every year

until things got kind of warry in the 30s and 40s, but it has been part of the modern incarnation of Formula One

every year since 1955. The circuit has changed a bit over time, mostly for safety reasons as the cars got faster, but generally

it looks the same as it did in 1929.

So let's see, one of the reasons I love Monaco is that it's that practically every part of the track is distinctive in some way

Sections have names that you've heard of. You've got the starting line which is in the

middle of this long gently curving section that has European buildings on both sides.
