Hey everyone, welcome to another installment of Harry Potter Theory.

With the trailer dropping last week, we've already started to see some encouraging signs

when it comes to book accuracy.

One of my favorites, the title.

Instead of using Sorcerer's Stone for international audiences like the original films did,

the series is sticking with the original title, Philosopher Stone across the board,

just as it was originally written.

And this is just one of the many encouraging aspects of the new series.

Now, it's worth remembering that the

Philosopher Stone has been a cornerstone of the Harry Potter franchise ever since it was first

released back in 1997. Its success led to six more novels, and eventually the 2001 film

adaptation. And while that film was undeniably magical, it wasn't perfect.

Like any adaptation, certain things had to be left out.

But what's interesting is that Philosopher Stone is actually the shortest book in the series,

which means the filmmakers had less to condense than they would later on.

But still, quite a few details, scenes, and even key elements were either altered or left out entirely. Many aspects

of the new show look promising. However, a single two-minute trailer can only show so much, which is why

I've compiled the list of some of the things the books included, the movies missed, and the HBO show

can't miss. Anyway, without further ado, let's dive into it. Quirrel and Harry's

first meeting. In the film, Quirrell recoils from Harry and avoid shaking his hand at the leaky

cauldron, seemingly foreshadowing that he can't touch Harry. But the problem is, that shouldn't be
