Last day of the week, Friday 10th of May, I'm Martin Lee, and I go through every EV story,

so you don't have to.

We'll start with news of the US considering measures on Chinese EVs and connected vehicles.

Gina Ramondo is the US Commerce Secretary, hinting that the US government

is contemplating stringent measures against Chinese EVs and smart connected vehicles. The possible

options include an outright ban or the imposition of restrictions. What the Commerce Department is

currently undergoing some examination of Chinese EVs, some public feedback has been issued due by the end of

April. This is part of the ongoing investigation initiated by the Biden administration back in

February. The probe is said to establish whether the importation of Chinese EVs could pose a threat

to the nation's security.

EVs are essentially connected vehicles, and there's a concern, the same as has happened in China,

by the way, with Tesla being connected vehicles over what they might be capturing.
