the Oscars. Once upon a time, this was a podcast dedicated to the Academy Awards. We're going to go

back to our roots today to discuss Kenneth Brana's autobiographical feature, Belle Fast,

a leading contender for Best Picture at the moment and the state of the race so far.

Later in this episode, I have a conversation with Alison Claimon, a documentarian who has made

films about Iway Way and Steve Bannon. Alison's new film is called Jagged. It's an intimate portrait

of a Lannis Moore set during the making of and subsequent landmark success of her album,

Jagged Little Pill. Jagged is the latest in Ringer films and HBO's Music Box series. I'm a producer

on this series and have been hard at work on it with Bill Simmons and our team for more than three

years. Over the next five Thursdays, five new films from the series will debut on HBO and HBO Max.

Every week during that period, I'll have a conversation with one of the directors. I hope you will

announces several major Oscar contenders. Belle Fast is the first true heavy hitter. I just want to give

you one data point before we begin our conversation of this movie in the race in general. It's 131 days

until the Academy Awards. 131. Great. The Academy Awards are on March 27, 2022. We could be destroyed

by an asteroid before that. That's 131 days. Compared to last year, it's just like the peak of

efficiency. Last year's award season was somehow 45 years long, even though there were three movies
