Those are all legendary and deservedly so.

But what we don't know are these neighborhood classics.

Restaurants with local history, local flavor,

the soul of a community.

And this episode, I want to focus on those.

It was inspired.

Because, look, you all know if you've been listening. I grew up in San Fernando Valley.

I grew up four miles away from the oldest restaurant in the valley and never heard word one of it.

And this was after going to the older restaurant in Los Angeles County,

which is 136 years old,

and I had never heard of that before.

So what I'm here to do, what this episode is is about is we're going to add to the list of restaurants that are synonymous with LA food history

I'm talking about 10 historic LA restaurants that need more love. So it's time to give these

restaurants the shine they deserve and I'm excited and I hope you're hungry because
