Summary

In today’s episode, Abby talks about 10 habits she is incorporating into her lifestyle to better herself and make the most of the rest of this crazy year and beyond. Why write off the rest of the year just because some of the year has sucked? Take these last few months under your wing and do what you can to make the most of every day and help yourself become the best version of you that you can be. Inspirational/informative sustainable Instagram accounts: @intersectionalenvironmentalist, @impactforgood, @ssustainably_, @brightly @inspiroue I also want to add that I totally acknowledge and understand that sustainability is a privilege - and having the choice is a privilege. However, I think it is so important for me as a content creator to try and inspire those who can (that have the time, money, standard body size, etc) to make whatever small changes they can so that those who are disproportionately affected by poor sustainable choices (often those who can’t afford it) can bear less of the burden through more of us making more of those small lifestyle changes.

Hi everyone. Welcome back to the Gen Z Girl podcast. My name is Abby Asseland and I am the host of this podcast if you are new here. So happy to have you guys listening today. I am on my phone again recording my microphone, my new one that has been sitting at my house in my parents' house for a while should get to me this week. My mom, I think, sent it this weekend. So next week I'll be back on the

0:22.0

microphone, so I apologize if you hear any background noise or the audio just sucks or anything like

0:27.4

that. I just don't want to be able to get podcast episodes up for you guys. But today's episode,

0:32.4

I thought, would be a good idea just because of the stage of life that I'm in right now and a lot of others are in

0:39.1

and just changes that people are going through at the moment. I know a lot of my audience is either

0:44.0

in college or has been to college or maybe you're not in college and you are just sick of 2020

0:50.4

and you sort of want to make a change before 2021 and go into the rest of this year with

0:57.4

a different mindset. I think a lot of times when we go through things that suck and things

1:01.9

that are bad, we almost wait on a right time to make a change when in reality, like waiting

1:08.2

on a time to make a change and waiting for the right time to come

1:12.4

is going to do nothing but delay the process and just get you to a point of constantly

1:18.1

procrastinating and never actually taking initiative and making change and you can make a change

1:23.2

on at noon today you can make a change tomorrow night you can make a change in two weeks you can make

1:29.6

a change tomorrow you can literally do it whenever and that's something that's so liberating when it

1:33.8

comes to thinking about making change in your life um we get so caught up on needing to have like

1:40.3

x y and z in order or needing to have this status or this amount of money or,

1:44.6

you know, this amount of followers to start something or do something or make a change

1:49.9

when in reality, you can make a change at any given moment and it's all within your power

1:55.6

and your control of your timing. So basically, I'm just going to be talking about, I was going to

2:00.7

say goals for the rest of the year, but I don't like calling them basically, I'm just going to be talking about, I was going to say goals for the rest of

2:02.1

the year, but I don't like calling them goals because I feel like whenever I say goals, I sort of,

2:08.4

in my head, goals are just kind of like this thing that you work towards and then you reach and you
