Are you someone who doesn't take life too seriously? Do you sometimes find that a shot of whiskey

0:08.1

isn't only deserved but needed? If you said yes to either of those, welcome to the Whiskey and Lace

0:13.2

podcast, where we have honest chats with everyday people, shit shows, and all. I'm your host, Erica

0:18.8

Altus, and I'm here to empower you to be the best version of

0:22.1

yourself and perhaps share in a shot of whiskey. Now pour yourself a glass of wine and let's go.

Okay, welcome back to another episode of the Whiskey and Laced podcast. Today I'm flying solo. I'm

0:34.8

actually in my bedroom. My children are out in the living room. So if by chance,

0:40.0

they interrupt me, I apologize from the gecko. Today's episode is probably going to arguably be

the hardest one for me to record. If you've followed me on Instagram, I've shared this story there.

0:56.3

listen, be the same listener that listened to your podcast. So I was like, okay, fine. So here I am.

1:21.2

If you're new here, oftentimes people will wonder, where did the name whiskey and lace come from?

1:30.6

And it took me eight years to share that story on my Instagram account. I would get asked every single time I put up a Q&A

1:36.5

box, like, why the name whiskey and lace? Like, what, why not wine and lace, you know, because I share a lot

1:41.4

about wine. And every time that somebody would ask me that

1:44.4

question, it was like a dagger to my side. Like, oh, you know, I just like, it was like an elephant in

1:50.1

the room almost, but like I just would avoid it so nobody really knew. But I knew people were curious.

1:55.4

And some people have followed me since the beginning of whiskey and lace 1.0, for lack of a better, like, term.

2:04.5

And they knew this.
