SANGER- Hello and welcome to small stories from Extraordinary Stories podcast. This is my second small stories

episode. So the first one was last week and I focused on sex for that very first episode. Now that

seemed to go down quite well. I got lots of really nice communication from people, especially about

the story, the threesome in New York, which, in which unfortunately someone had died. The case is

still ongoing and so I think it's still receiving a lot of press.

So for those who heard that and got in touch, thank you very much.

With this episode, it started out as actually going to be about survival.

And then along the way, when I started researching, there's three little stories today.

It actually ended up becoming about escape.

So that's going to be the theme of this one.

So onwards with the first story, okay?

Let's go.

I've simply titled this story, Sandy, John, Beth and Tommy.

They are a group of American rock climbers who are rock climbing in Kyrgyzstan.

Now that's a country in Central Asia, I believe, I think it borders Kazakhstan and

China. So the four of these, Sandy John, Beth and Tommy, they are strong climbers who often go

on climbing trips together. So the four of them are out and they decide on a mountain that they want to climb. So on the very first day

they climb 1,000 feet and at night they settle down for a good night's sleep. They settle down

on the edge on those, I think they're called portal edges. Do you know those things that stick out

the side of the rock? They totally freak

me out. The things where you sort of attach yourself to it and you fall asleep in it. Yeah,

I don't think you wouldn't really be catching me one of those. But anyway, that's the end of the
