The internet and wrestling today are so intrinsically linked, it's almost crazy.

Be it social media reactions or those of us who go in deeper to find out everything there is to know about what's happening behind the scenes,

you simply live for whatever news or gossip is about to be pasted

on to Reddit.

It's all about enjoyment at the end of the day so more power to you, but it's easy to forget

that when the internet was in its infancy, this kind of traction was nowhere near the same.

In fact, it was far more of a niche, and those who found themselves entrenched in it seemed to

get wound up about the oddest of things.

So yeah, not much has changed, but it's still incredible to look back to see just what apparent crimes

wrestling was committing and how the whole industry was on the verge of collapse because of it.

As I'm sure you can figure out, most of these are vastly exaggerated.

Number 10, Stone cold's beer.

Far from being untouchable, Stone cold Steve Austin was well in the sights of the internet

wrestling community back in the day, even when it came to his choice of beverage.

The rattlesnake's favourite tipple is a Sierra Nevada torpedo IPA, but at 7.2% ABB, it didn't make sense for him to bring that

to the ring and chug it down. He was not only at work, but had to wrestle, don't forget,

so ensuring he wasn't sossuced to the gills was important.

Surely it was all right for him to be the best-swilling anti-hero visually, especially as it was made

more than clear that it was indeed one of Austin's hobbies away from the squared circle.

A compromise was fine, although apparently it wasn't.
