And listen, we're taking it all the way back to the Victorian era,

where the cool thing to do was to tell ghost stories at Christmas.

So I'm bringing you 10 days of listener

stories to help get you through the holiday period. Let's get into it. Our story today comes from

Alan and it was sent in on October the 13th, 2024. My first experience was when I had just turned 11.

I was in my bedroom, the small box room of a typical 1930s bay-fronted,

semi-detached house, in the War Down Park area of Luton. I was sorting out my schoolbooks

ready for the lessons of that week. I had them scattered over the floor when I was suddenly

overcome with thirst. I went down to the kitchen when I was suddenly overcome with thirst.

I went down to the kitchen where I drank a pint of squash without a breath.

I can't have been out of my bedroom for more than two minutes.

And when I returned to my bedroom, the books that I had left scattered across the floor

were perfectly stacked in a pile in the middle of the floor. I was the

only person in the house. My next experience was when I saw a ghost cat. My mother and my aunt owned and

ran a florist in a side street of Luton's town centre. This was set in a row of terraced houses,

and was three of these houses knocked into one property.
