So these are the benefits of hugging. Bottom of the list, they say hugs help you communicate with others.

Most human connection occurs verbally or through facial expressions, but touch is another important way that people can send messages to one another

hugging is a very comforting and communicative type of touch.

Actually I saw my wife briefly yesterday here at work Miles and I were out smoking and

I gave her a hug and I whispered her ear, do you see that guy, Miles was talking to?

He annoys the piss out of us.

So I did communicate.

Oh, I gave her, oh yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah. And I left Miles to talk to him. So yeah, that's exactly what I told her.
