Hey there from CNN, I'm Paula Ortiz with the five things you need to know for Saturday, November 4th.

It's been nearly a month since Israel has declared war against Hamas after devastating terror attacks and artillery has pounded the Gaza Strip with no signs of a ceasefire.

The Palestinian Ministry of Health setting sources in the Hamas-controlled enclaves saying

over 9,000 people have been killed by Israeli attacks since October 7th.

The United Nations aid agencies warn that the ones, quote,

bearing the burden of the war are women and children,

including newborns.

As hospitals run out of fuel for power and aid trickles in slowly,

the threat of losing newborns to rely on neonatal and intensive care services looms.

The joint statement also highlighted the psychological effects work and have on people that can be deadly in the long run. The statement called for quote an immediate humanitarian pause to alleviate the situation and quote prevent a desperate situation from

becoming catastrophic.

Israeli artillery keeps battering down on Gaza as calls for a ceasefire continue

but Israel is firm in their position that

attacks will not stop until the 241 hostages taken by Hamas are

recuperated. CNN's Nick Robertson tells us what to expect.
