Today is Thursday, October 28th, 2021, and we begin with the greatest show on Earth returning

soon to a town near you with one major change, no more animals.

The Ringling Brothers in Barnum and Bailey Circus folded its tent in 2017 after 146 years

of traveling clowns, acrobats, lions, and elephants.

Trees of animal abuse had dogged the show, and that combined with the rising popularity

of video games and other online entertainment contributed to already declining ticket sales

and the circus's ultimate demise.

Four years later, Ringling Brothers will try to raise its tent once again, but hasn't

yet said how its new animal-free, three-ring extravaganza will fit today's changing tastes.

All for the ethical treatment of animals is applauding yesterday's announcement.

Halloween may be on at your house, but it's officially off at the White House.

President Biden and his wife Dr. Jill Biden will be traveling internationally this weekend

and won't be home to host any traditional holiday parties.

Even so, the Pennsylvania Avenue side of the building will be lit up in orange for passing

trucker treaters, Halloween 2021 coincides with two major events taking place overseas.

Over the weekend, Mr. Biden will attend the G20 summit in Rome, a meeting of the world's

major economic leaders.

After that, he'll head to the United Nations Climate Change Conference in Glasgow, Scotland,

where environmentalists and politicians will meet to discuss global warming.

One world leader who won't be there, Britain's Queen Elizabeth, who had a cancel on Drs.

that she'd stay home and rest.
