I think you talk to them.

You don't come out the first day and give your, hopefully, semi-interesting spring training speech to the whole team

and hope that that's going to do the trick.

That's not how it works.

And the way it works is you hopefully talk to them this off-season, and then you get to know them a little bit, and then you get to know them a little more, and then you show up to spring training, and you take an interest in them, not just in their baseball careers, but get to know them.

I mean, I like getting to know people, and I appreciate the people that I work with, not just for the players that they are and what they do out on the field.

I like to know what makes these guys tick and really how to get the most out of them on the field and off.

Oh, this is so difficult because there's so many question marks,

and we don't know about Snow or Buxton and the pitching.

I would say being realistic about that, At least 2020.

2019, because we don't know, we're pretty sure Rosario's going to be your opening day left field or next year. Besides that, we don't know. Pitching, we know some, but not a lot.

The bullpen probably has to be redone. I would say there's got to be at least a year here

to figure out what's going to happen to the key players.
