I'm Bruce Feldman, joined as always by Stuart Mandel, and we actually held taping this part until Monday afternoon, late Monday afternoon, to fill in the blanks from the Big

12 non-expansion in their press conference.

This is not surprising, Stu.

I know you wrote a column about it.

This is pretty much what we expected, which with the Big 12 is kind of a curveball in itself,

correct?

Well, you never know what to expect with the Big 12.

And when you and I discussed early this

morning that we should push this back, this part of the podcast back till after the press

conference, nothing had been reported yet. For all, we knew they were going to come out and say

they wanted to add eight teams. You know, you can never know with these guys until it actually

happens. End of day, yes, all indications in the last few weeks, I would say, was that this is where

it was headed.

But that being said, I just cannot believe that they put all these schools through this

three-month audition process of sending materials and doing video conferences and flying

to Dallas and all this, you know,

great lengths of lobbying the Big 12, whether you're BYU, Cincinnati, Houston, Connecticut, or whoever.

And then at the press conference today, Monday, David Bourne says they didn't even discuss individual

schools.

They got together.

They sang kumbaya.
