disappear.

For family members, the process can take a huge toll, especially when days turn into years.

Hope starts to fade and some families resign themselves to never knowing what happened to their

loved one.

And that could have been the case for Valencia Harris,

whose daughter, Unique Harris, went missing

from Washington, D.C. in 2010.

But that was a fate Valencia refused to accept.

I have three children and four grandchildren and I am the mother of

unique Rakeel, Leona Harris.

Unique was a 24-year-old mother of two young boys when she disappeared from her

apartment. Her story of course starts long before then. Her own mother

Valencia had unique when she was still in high school.
