Today is Tuesday, October 7, 2025. And we begin with a rescue effort on the scale of a

blockbuster movie. The drama began with a shock blizzard that

hit the eastern slope of Mount Everest in Nepal over the weekend. At one point, a thousand climbers

found themselves and their tents trapped by massive amounts of snow. As of this recording,

hundreds have been rescued, but hundreds are still stuck at campsites above 16,000 feet.

Rescue crews and local villagers have been working around the clock to get everyone off the mountain.

One of the lucky ones told Reuters that the biggest risk is hypothermia.

The weather this year is not normal, she said.
