What started as an unusually quiet hurricane season this year took a vicious turn just

over a week ago.

Helene made landfall in the Big Bend region of Florida as a massive category four storm

with winds of 140 miles an hour,

destroying homes and devastating countless other towns and cities across six states.

This type of storm used to be quite rare, but it's becoming more and more common,

and scientists say a big part of the reason is climate change.

This is an issue that concerns many people, including kids.
