at exactly 2.20pm Eastern Time, 120 Central, 12.20 Mountain, and 11.20 this morning Pacific.

Almost all cell phones, TVs, and radios across the United States will blast a simultaneous test of the nation's emergency alert system.

It'll be jarring, but it's only a test, and will be accompanied by a message that says no action is needed.

The goal of this drill, says FEMA, which stands for the Federal Emergency Management Agency,

is to make sure it can reach as many Americans all at once in case of a widespread catastrophic event.

If today's Coast to Coast test gets derailed by technology or extreme weather, it'll be rescheduled for next Wednesday.

Political history was made on Capitol Hill yesterday, and political chaos quickly followed.

Kevin McCarthy, Republican from California, is now the first speaker of the House of Representatives to be ousted from his job by members of his own party.

Eight Republicans, led by Floridian Matt Gates, joined all the Democrats to topple him from power.

It's the first time a House Speaker has ever been removed by a vote of no confidence.

Mr. Gates was angry with Mr. McCarthy's decision to strike a deal with Democrats to prevent a government shutdown.
