0:06.7

and why everyone has got to stop talking about the offense.

I have been covering the Nuggets and the NBA for 14 seasons as a credentialed reporter here in Denver, covering the NBA for 18 seasons. Thanks for joining us and making us part of your day. Being in every day or making us your first listen. This is Locked on Nuggets, part of the Locked on podcast network, your team every day. This is the 10-0 runs, 10 quick minutes, is a quick mini show covering wherever the stories of the day are. And in the aftermath of the loss of Oklahoma City, the Nuggets 3rd straight. And after the guys did, I thought a great show last night, kind of showed the positivity and how great a game it was and bringing a different type of energy. I want to come on and give you my thoughts as well after doing a rewatch of the tape this morning. We'll also talk a little bit about the opportunity ahead of the Nuggets and I want to touch on Spencer Jones's minutes as well. Glad to have you guys with us. So we will still do, by the way, if you're watching this on Tuesday night, no jinx, same time, 10.30 p.m. Eastern. This is just a little mini show popped into your feeds. this is some bonus content because we're going to flip the page from OKC to the new games on tonight because they got that big double header coming up.

1:32.5

Okay. Let's start here with my thoughts on the game. There is so much conversation today about,

1:38.7

oh, this guy only had this many points and this guy only had this many points. And like I've talked

1:42.7

about Cam Johnson about how he needs to be better, about how his

1:45.1

performance hasn't been good enough. And it wasn't good last night. Cam Johnson did not play well. It also offensively did not matter. Did not matter. I want to be very clear on this. The Nuggets lost the Oklahoma City Thunder because of the defense. That is why they lost. They had a 120 defensive rating or offensive rating last night.

2:02.4

That is more than good enough against the number one defense in the NBA for them to have

2:06.8

won.

2:07.7

They absolutely got to what they wanted to.

2:10.1

They scored efficiently, effectively, and consistently throughout this game.

2:14.4

The offense was great.

2:15.2

Yes, they had a low in the second quarter.

2:16.5

That's going to happen sometimes. Overall, the offensive performance was just fine. The problem was the defense. And again, we kind of find the same kind of patterns for me. Now, one thing that I did notice when I went back and watched was Jalen Williams had 29 points in this game. Everyone was owing and awing over Sheaos, Alexander, and right. Shea was great. She's, she's amazing. She is incredible. She's going to win his second best his second MVP in a row. Very few players have ever gone back to back, including Yokach and Janus. Like, he is awesome. This is nothing about him. But you could have survived the 35 from Cheg Gilles-Alexander. You could have survived that.

2:52.6

You would have been okay. What you can survive is Chegulous Alexander having 35 and giving up 15 assists.

2:59.2

That is not going to be, that is not survivable. You can't, much like with Joker, you can't have him be a score and a playmaker because Shay, quite honestly,

3:08.6

isn't that great of a playmaker.

3:10.2

He's good.
