Hello, I'm Eddie Mayer. I'm sure, like me, you have your favourite podcasts, and we're always on the lookout, aren't we, for something new in the podcast world.

I wonder if you'd like to try a new BBC podcast, which starts on Monday, May the 14th. It will not be entertaining. It will not leave you with a smile playing about your lips. Some of it will be grueling and harrowing.

I can think of many reasons why you would not want to add it to your podcast subscriptions.

But if you're still listening, maybe you'll find our new podcast is something you'd like to hear.

Our podcast will be all about the 71 people known to have died in the Grenfell Tower Fire on June the 14th last year.

Soon the public inquiry will begin to examine the circumstances leading up to and surrounding the fire.

As you could imagine, there'll be a lot of media coverage when the inquiry starts, when the inquiry finishes, and at key points along the way.

But news being what it is, much of the media will be talking about other things during the Grenfell

inquiry. They'll move on. Our podcast won't. Our podcasts will report every day the Grenfell Tower

inquiry is sitting.

We don't think anyone's tried something like this before, a nightly podcast from an important inquiry, so we will be learning as we go along.

Your help, comments and questions will be a vital part of what we do.

What I can promise you is that as well as telling you what happened inside the inquiry room itself every night,

we'll try to demystify some of the complexities

and make the technical evidence make sense

so that, well, so that even I can understand it.

The inquiry starts on Monday the 21st of May,

but before then, we'll fill you in on some of the important details you need to know.
