How firm a foundation, ye saints of the Lord is laid for your faith in his excellent word.

You know, it's been said that there are three things that can take down a pastor or a church, money, sex or power.

And of course, I'd add to that pride,

especially when we say that we don't have a problem

with any of these things to start with.

We've all heard in the headlines

about the devastating results of a church or a pastor who lost control in one or more of these areas.

I'm Steve Schwetz welcoming you aboard through the Bible as our teacher Dr. J. Vernon McGee addresses the

deadly issues that crop up in our churches today. We're in 1st Timothy a letter

that the apostle Paul wrote to a young pastor. Specifically Dr McGee draws out some thought-provoking

lessons about leadership in the local church. So grab your Bible and turn to

about the Middle East, a place where

through the Bible has significant ministry.

We do, Steve, by the grace of God, we are ministering in numerous, all the major languages of the Middle East, Arabic, Turkish,

Farsi, which is also referred to as Persian. You think of Indonesian, you think of which I'm now actually thinking of the Muslim

world but the Middle East is a very very surprisingly fruitful field of ministry.

Yeah and I'm excited and I always have a warm spot in my heart for the

Middle East because that was the birth of through the Bible on satellite TV.

That is correct. Yeah more than 10 years ago Yeah, and the success of that starting originally in Arabic

and now in multiple languages being dubbed,

which I thought I was not a fan of that.
