and in just a few minutes we're going to

be off to our study in 1st Timothy chapter 1 starting at verse 3. But before we

begin here's Dr. McGee's response to a desperate listener who wrote to him many years ago and you

know I love how his answer shows his heart for God's people as well as the depth of

God's love for each of us even though we sometimes make some pretty bad choices.

It's a message that I know many of us need to hear.

It is a woman that has been in sin and now wonders why things are not going well when she has made a determination to come back to God.

And in her desperation, she's contemplating suicide, and she thinks that is the only way out.

And if that was the only way out, I would recommend it.

just resting and a man came up to the porch because the

man was right next to the church and he came down through that alleyway and he sat down on the edge of the porch and he put down a big old rusty revolver and he said to me he said preacher if you can't give me a good reason why I should not take my own life I intend to commit suicide and I must confess I

must confess I startled for just a moment and I looked at that old

rusty revolver and wondered if it would really work or not. I said this to him, I said, young man, if you can show me and demonstrate to me

that you will solve your problem, it is by taking your life. I'll go get you a

gun that's a better looking gun than that so you can do a good job of it. But I said you won't solve your problem. I don't
