Some men were taking advantage of people sexually, other people were taking advantage of others financially.

And he's addressing them both at the same moment.

He says, like, these are both related to love, brotherly love, affectionate love, and you should not be doing either of these things.

God is not a God who takes advantage of people.

We are in our second conversation looking at the letter of first Thessalonians.

Last time we looked at how the church in Thessalonia, Thessalonica. Thessaloniki.

Yeah.

Was like, they had like a three three week crash course with Paul. Yeah.

And, uh, three weeks of Bible school.

Yep.

Yet that word was functioning in them so powerfully because Jesus was working in them that they became this church that was resilient through the suffering that they had to go through because of the

local persecution. And Paul is writing to them thanking God for the word that's been at work within them.

And we kind of talked a little bit about how suffering advances the gospel. And we also talked about

how it's God working in us that really sanctifies and transforms us and makes us resilient through suffering.

And now today we're going to be talking about the coming of the Lord.
