Welcome aboard the Bible bus for another intriguing study in First Thessalonians.

And in just a minute we're going to continue our examination of chapter 4 beginning at

verse 3 but first here are a few thoughts Dr McGee shared about the true freedom

we experience when we obey God's word. We are living in a day when the so-called Judeo-Christian ethic is no longer accepted by the world outside. They are being guided by a pagan

philosophy and a pagan philosophy and a pagan philosophy that of course has destroyed great

nations of the past. Apparently those that are in the church, whether they be saved or unsaved, are being

affected by the climate that is in the world today.

May I run up the red flag,

may I put up a warning at this curve that we're going around today at high speed.

I do not want to pontificate and I do not want to sound like a bigot either.

I do not feel that I am, but nevertheless I do want to say this,

that the word of God has not changed, God has not changed, and the standard that he has

erected in the word of God still stands today so that when men throw these off it's exactly what is said in the second psalm they said, let us break their bands asunder and cast away their

cords from us.

This is a great movement against God and against Christ and it's to get rid of the Bible, the

word of God, and to set up man's little standard that will permit him to have what he calls liberty.

But it's the kind of liberty that brought nations in the past into slavery and the freedom that we enjoy today came to us down the

Bible route.
