All right, welcome to the inaugural podcast of what is tentatively known as classical stuff you should know,

definitely ripping off one of my favorite podcasts, Catholic stuff you should know, at least the early Catholic stuff you should know, because I'm only about a year into the podcast.

My name is Graham Donaldson, and I'm here with A.J. Hanenberg.

That's me?

You look very relaxed because of summertime.

Yeah, it's really nice.

That's good.

And we figured that we would come and do a podcast every now and then and tell you classical stuff

you should know. We are both classical teachers at Veritas Academy in Austin, Texas. And yeah, we love classical

education and we think more people should know about it. So we're just going to tell you all the cool

stuff that we've been learning over the past five years of teaching together.

And so maybe we should give them a little bit of our credentials just so they know who they're listening to.

Do we have any credentials?

Loose credentials, maybe.

So I teach ninth grade English, which is primarily ancient literature.

So Homer and Beowulf and that sort of thing. I also teach 12th grade

rhetoric. I've taught logic. I've taught drama. I've taught leadership. I taught a whole bunch of

things. And I got my degree in theology from Oort College. And I teach 10th grade English,

which is everything from medieval to early modern, well, actually late modern,

and 12th English as well as the rhetoric program, and I got my degree from Wycliffe College
