Summary

Elaine O’Hara was a troubled woman who disappeared from her Dublin home in 2012 and was presumed to have committed suicide. A year later, due to a series of coincidences, her body was found and a man with an appetite for the twisted, but the appearance of a nice middle class family man was charged with her murder. 1:12.4	Elaine O'Hara was born on St. Patrick's Day, 1976.
1:16.0	She was the eldest of four children, living in the suburbs south of Dublin City.
1:21.0	Her mother died in March 2002. Throughout her early life, she struggled with mental health problems.
1:28.0	She had a number of suicide attempts and was hospitalized for the first time at 16 in St. Edmondsbury Hospital.
1:36.4	She was put on a cocktail of various antidepressants.
1:40.2	In her teenage years, recurring themes of interests in bondage and subservience associated with her lack of self-esteem and confidence were noted by the professionals around her.
1:51.0	Throughout her 20s, she was in and out of mental health facilities and established a long-standing
1:57.5	relationship with her mental health care team.
2:00.9	The sudden death of her psychiatrist in 2007 hit her particularly hard.
2:07.0	She worked as a child care assistant and was studying towards a BA in Montessori School Teaching.
2:12.7	At weekends she also worked in a local corner store.
2:16.5	In August of 2012 she had booked some time off from her weekend job to help volunteer

2:23.0	a weekend festival taking place in the city centre,
2:26.0	and by all accounts she was looking forward to the experience.
2:30.0	She wasn't outgoing by nature, so taking part in the event was going to be a big personal achievement for her.
